Convert PNG to JPG
JPG files are accepted almost everywhere and are usually much smaller than PNG for photos. JPG cannot store transparency, so you choose the colour that fills transparent areas: white unless you pick another.

What happens to transparency
The image is placed on a solid background in the colour you choose before it is saved as JPG. Fully transparent areas take that colour, and semi-transparent edges such as soft shadows blend into it.
Pick a colour that matches where the image will be used, for example white for documents or your website’s background colour.
When to keep PNG instead
Screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges or text can show fuzzy artifacts as JPG. If you need transparency or perfectly crisp lines, keep PNG, or try WebP, which keeps transparency at a much smaller size.
Frequently asked questions
Why did the transparent parts turn white?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels must be filled with a colour. White is the default; choose any other background colour before converting.
Can I keep the transparency?
Not with JPG. Use the image compressor and choose WebP or PNG output to keep transparent areas.
Will the image dimensions change?
No. The JPG has exactly the same width and height as your PNG.
What quality should I choose?
The default of 90% keeps graphics and text sharp. For photos, 75–85% gives a smaller file with little visible difference.
